  1. I loved this post and your reflections on growth. And I think that actually a lot has changed from those first photos.

  3. These are wonderful photos. I believe you have a great eye and feel for your photos, which is something that is difficult to teach someone.

PS - I tagged you for The Versatile Blogger Award on my blog today. If you don't participate in awards or memes, that's perfectly fine. Just wanted to let you know. :)

  6. Colour saturation certainly has changed if you compare the shots. In 2 years I am sure you've gained more knowledge than you really realise. Not one photographer even professional gets it right every time - it's learning from those under and over exposure shots that counts. I shot in manual as soon as I got my dslr and I could never go back to automatic - I'm always learning.

I think the best way to get light on the face is to have your subject facing the light as long as it's not a harsh light - that way you get great catch lights in the eyes too.

  7. Your posts are always very thoughtful and profound. I am not good with manuals either. And I dropped out of my college photography course because I was overwhelmed with the mechanics of the camera (This is something I still regret years later. I wish I had persevered.) I struggle to get the best shot. I am learning too- both about my creative self and photography.
